We have an opening in our office for a detailed, motivated and team-oriented individual to oversee the activities of the Business Office staff and day-to-day operations in an efficient, cost effective manner. This position requires a strong leader with excellent knowledge and experience in revenue cycle management as well as the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the department.
Duties to include:
Manage department staff, hire additional staff as needed, and ensure that each employee has all the necessary resources and training needed to succeed and improve company production
Organize, monitor, and distribute assignments
Implement and improve billing work flow efficiencies and methods
Monitor communications, accuracy, production, and productivity amongst the business office staff, the practice administrator and the board of directors
Perform month-end closing of the billing group information
Gather, review, and analyze data on cost-effectiveness of new and established services the company provides
Assist with patient problems and promote excellent customer service
Maintain a current knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9, ICD-10 knowledge
Knowledge and experience with CAQH, provider credentialing, and working with an IPA.
Knowledge and experience with collections, collection agencies, etc.
Knowledge of all aspects of medical billing from posting charges, posting EOB’s, refiling claims, sending corrected claims, posting patient payments, insurance recoupments, following up on open claims, working aging A/R, working collections, assisting parents with their billing questions/needs, etc.
Comply with OSHA and HIPAA regulations and guidelines
Supervise the selecting and ordering of supplies
Ideal Candidate should have:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare related field
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a Medical Business Office
Ability to supervise individuals as appropriate, including the timely deliverance of disciplinary actions, reviews, and verbal counseling to ensure the smooth running of department
Extensive working knowledge with medical terminology, procedure codes, and billing procedures (Pediatrics is preferred and a plus)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work and follow through
Good listening and communication skills
Strong experience regarding all aspects of revenue cycle management
Strong experience with CMS-1500 forms, clearinghouses, ERA/EFT accounts, insurance recoupments, time of service payments (deductibles, coinsurance, and copays).
Ability to work efficiently on computer with systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Outlook and an Electronic Medical Record
Professional Business Office environment
Possibility of lifting 20 lbs. or less in office equipment/supplies
