This position repairs, maintains, calibrates and safety-tests basic clinical, communications and laboratory equipment. Ensures the safe condition of electrically powered equipment through testing and inspection. Verifies the accurate operation of basic equipment and maintains accurate records of all repair/maintenance activities. Assists in the installation of new equipment. Provides limited specialized technical support to customers.
Provides primary level services for basic types of electronic and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs and calibrates basic medical, clinical, communications and laboratory equipment through standard electronic diagnostic techniques and common test equipment.
Inspects and tests basic medical, clinical and laboratory equipment for electrical safety, calibration, and proper operation by using current leakage testers, common test equipment and physiological simulators.
Maintains logs of repairs, electrical safety testing and maintenance of electrically powered and mechanical equipment. Generates equipment records for new, incoming equipment. Keeps accurate records of time and materials utilized in the performance of assigned duties.
Utilizes and maintains a variety of common test and calibration equipment. This may include oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, physiological signal simulators, power supplies, and special test instrumentation.
Participates in on-the-job training to advance and acquires new skills regarding sophisticated and specialized electronic equipment.
Works with a variety of electrically powered and mechanical equipment including paging systems, audio/nurse call systems, alarm systems, receivers, office equipment, pneumatic tube systems, common laboratory devices, simple computers, and other common equipment.

High School diploma or equivalent, required
One (1) year of experience in Bio-Med, medical equipment, and/or electronics maintenance, required
Associates degree in Biomedical Maintenance/Equipment Technician or equivalent, preferred
