The System Director, Strategic Business Initiatives will bring experience leading large scale initiatives and transactions as well as a strategic business focus and understanding of how various initiatives are tied to business goals and objectives.
The System Director will provide key support to ministry realignment efforts including mergers and acquisitions and other key business initiatives, manages due diligence processes and supports development of bids and proposals. Position will assist leadership with analysis and planning for new business opportunities, identification of new markets, new products/services and merger, acquisition, or affiliation opportunities that are consistent with the mission, vision and strategic goals for the System.
Position will have prior experience in complex, matrixed organizations with a strong team orientation and track record of working with stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Position will work closely with leadership to ensure management and timely delivery of business initiatives.
Supports ministry realignment work including mergers and acquisitions and other business initiatives, manages due diligence processes, supports development of bids and proposals and provides integration leadership for strategic elements of the transaction/initiative.
Assists leadership with analysis and planning for new business opportunities, identification of new markets, new products/services and merger, acquisition, or affiliation opportunities that are consistent with the mission, vision and strategic goals for the System.
Ensures all programs and projects are appropriately defined, planned and delivered to meet business objectives.
Leads cross-functional teams to ensure management and delivery of projects and programs on time, within budget and within quality standards.
Implements program management practices and measures results through use of management reports, dashboards and metrics as appropriate.
Frequently reviews project progress and project risks and recommends contingency plans and strategies to mitigate any identified risks.
Develops collaborative relationships with Senior Management and System Service Center functional Leaders as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Assists the management team in presentation or meeting preparations.
Assist on special assignments as needed and performs other duties as requested.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred, or the equivalent experience. Bachelor degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field is required.
Work Experience: Minimum five years business development and/or healthcare transaction experience within a health system or consulting environment required with management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders at various levels to achieve results.
Has identified, assessed and executed partnerships, mergers or acquisitions.
Demonstrated project management and process facilitation skills with the ability to direct, manage and prioritize large-scale projects and teams, at times simultaneously.
Well developed leadership skills, including a high-level of personal confidence, presence and executive demeanor; polished presentation, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
A proven capacity for strategic thinking, planning and program development.
Must be a self-starter, highly organized, with the ability to interact and work well with cross-functional teams including internal and external stakeholders.
Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project (or other acceptable project management software) and Visio.
