The 50% Staff Research Associate I coordinates and facilitates a project to develop a tablet- and smartphone-based app that is designed to measure behavior change in persons with neurodevelopmental disorders for clinical trials. Also involves, to a lesser degree, assistance with research-based neuropsychological assessment and data management for an NIH funded project focused on intellectual disabilities.REQUIRED--College level education in biological science or related field, or combination of education and/or work experience--Experience with recruitment for research studies--Understanding of informed consent process and ability to communicate clearly about all aspects of the study including cognitive testing and developmental assessments--Experience doing cognitive tests of children with developmental disorders, and preparation of research summary reports--Experience with the Redcap database system--Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively work with physicians, patients and families, clinical staff, and other health care professionals--Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining large volumes of records-Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. PREFERRED--Demonstrated ability to publish scientific results in written form--Experience collecting and organizing data in Redcap--Experience with working with patients with fragile X and Down syndrome, i.e., recruiting, conducting phone in-takes, coordinating and scheduling clinical research appointments--Experience with administering neuropsychological protocols to individuals with fragile X, Down syndrome, and autism--Experience with conducting quality control of an app in development and communicating clearly and in timely manner with developersSPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
