BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB An employee who acts as an Emergency Department Paramedic and is responsible for the smooth and efficient performance of duties in the ED during a designated shift. This employee also performs tasks which involve specific nursing care for patients delegated and performed under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education High School/GED required Minimum Work Experience 2 years of pre-hospital EMS experience. Required Licenses/Certifications for position YES Licensed Paramedic in the State of Tennessee BLS, PALS, and ACLS required. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Must have functioned in the Emergency Department Tech role for a minimum of 6 months prior to functioning in the Paramedic role. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Heavy lifting, pushing and pulling is required up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects of up to 150 lbs. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 150 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
