The Staff Research Associate III will provide research support in the School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genomic Medicine Laboratory.REQUIRED--Advanced scientific Degree (Masters or above).--Experience working with DNA. RNA, and protein extraction, gel electrophoresis and blotting procedures (understanding of principles of probing a blot, including hybridization and detection of probe).--Experience in design of expression vectors and cell-based functional studies.--Experience with tissue culture, including maintaining sterile growth of cells, as well as maintaining cell lines in culture by continuous passage.--Viral plaque titering experience.--Demonstrated experience extracting data from experiments and writing qualitative and quantitative reports and/or providing contributions to research papers, posters, protocols, and grants.--Excellent organizational skills --Knowledge of basic principles of cell culture, molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemistry.--Ability to maintain accurate records (research experiments, documents, data, and statistics).--Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS--Occasional travel to and from various Davis Campus locations.--Occasional overtime.--THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
