This position demonstrates expertise in the area of breastfeeding, infant care, and childbirth education. Organizes and provides assessment, intervention, and education to patients based on individual nursing care needs.
Conducts inpatient rounds to educate and assess lactation needs of mothers/infants.
Facilitates Clinic to ensure achievement of desire patient outcomes for mothers and infants.
Clearly communicates, both orally and in writing, to foster staff and patient understanding of treatment plan.
Sensitive to the patient's needs such as physical, spiritual, and emotional and evaluates response to the delivery of care.
Delivers prenatal education to ensure that mothers/infants are prepared for childbirth and parenting.
Effectively manages department/patient activities in a time efficient manner to ensure the delivery of care is well-organized and proficient.
Provides quality customer service to patients, families, coworkers, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to create a professional and respectful environment.
Supports and promotes departmental/organizational priorities.

High School diploma or equivalent, required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required
Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of practice, required
Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification, required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required
Certification through the IBLCE (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners), required
One (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred
