Loyola University Chicago is currently interviewing for our ACGME approved fellowship in Neuroradiology for July 2018 start date.
Loyola is a tertiary care hospital with 569 licensed beds located in Maywood, Illinois, 13 miles west of downtown Chicago. Also on site is the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola. Gottleib Memorial Hospital, in adjacent Melrose Park, is a 264 bed community hospital with integrated medical staff and cross coverage of all imaging studies. Loyola is a Level 1 Trauma Center with approximately 30,000 neuroradiology studies per year and extremely busy Neurosurgery, Neurology and Otolaryngology services.
The Neuroradiology Section includes six full time neuroradiologists with one clinical fellow each year. Fellows work closely with the faculty with core rotations in general neuroradiology and sub-specialty blocks with concentrations in head and neck imaging, pediatric imaging, vascular imaging and advanced imaging techniques including fMRI, DTI, tractography, CT/MR perfusion and spectroscopy. There are opportunities for research collaboration within the section and participation is an expected element of the fellowship.
Candidates should be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology, hold or be eligible for a permanent medical license in the State of Illinois, and must have evidence of current/valid work authorization. Loyola University Health System accepts the J1 and J2 visas sponsored through the ECFMG and is unable to sponsor H1-B visas. Please note that IDFPR requires at least two years of postgraduate residency training completed in an approved training facility in the U.S. or Canada for permanent licensure application.
