Uses clinical expertise to meet, coordinate and/or provide staff learning for orientation, in-service training, competency processes and program development for existing and new services. Additionally, will analyze data for development and implementation of routines and guidelines resulting in the highest quality patient care. Will ensure that patient care is at the highest standards of evidence-based practice and that Department and Hospital Policies and Procedures are met. This position may act as a liaison between patients and providers; provide direct patient care; and collaborates with other disciplines within UCDMC to assure a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to respiratory care. Assumes a leadership role in the development, refinement and continuous quality improvement of Department policies and procedures. As part of the respiratory care management team assures appropriate coordination and distribution of staffing and resources.REQUIRED-At least 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.-Current and valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.-Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.-ACLS, NRP and PALS certification.-Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, Holidays and/or variable hours.- Must be willing to travel to other UCD locations or out of town to present programs.- Must be willing to attend University-provided training and testing.- Must be willing to to wear protective clothing.PREFERRED-Experience in a Level IV NICU and/or Level 1 Trauma Center.-Higher Education degree (B.S. or higher). -Previous teaching/leadership experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
