The mission of The Autism Clinic is to serve as a model program for the provision and promotion of best practices in the diagnosis, treatment and education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Autism Clinic is in search for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to lead our ASD diagnostic clinic. This position offers the opportunity to serve both children with ASD and their families. Utilizing best practice measures, this professional will be the first contact in guiding families through the diagnosis and treatment of ASD.
Position duties include the following:
-Complete comprehensive diagnostic evaluations that include the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Edition, the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised, assessment of ability and adaptive behavior, screening for signs of mental illness, mental status exam, observations, DSM-V diagnosis and recommendations for service at our Springfield and Edwardsville, Illinois clinics (potential for opportunities at our St. Louis clinic as well).
-Develop individualized treatment goals for children and adolescents with a range of functioning levels using a variety of assessment tools.
-Collaborate with professionals in Applied Behavior Analysis and Speech Language Pathology.
-Participate in continuing education and professional development by attending workshops and conferences, maintaining active memberships in professional organizations, publishing research and/or making presentations to other professionals.
-Establish personal goals for professional growth; participate actively in problem-solving; provide solution oriented and proactive recommendations; maintain effective and respectful interactions; communicate clearly and effectively; practice in accord with APA ethical standards.
-Submit session notes for billing in a timely manner
-Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology program
-Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois
-Specialized knowledge and experience in the following: Applied Behavior Analysis, Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder
-Expertise in the administration and interpretation of psychological evaluations, including IQ testing, the ADOS, adaptive functioning and clinical syndromes
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner with all levels of employees
-Successful background clearance, physical, and drug screening
-Ability to be enrolled as an insurance provider
-Currently enrolled as an insurance provider
-Current licensure in the state of Missouri or ability to obtain license within 6 months
The Autism Clinic at Hope is partnered with The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) in providing care for children diagnosed with Autism. These programs help to increase family access to early diagnosis and appropriate intervention by providing training to educators, early intervention professionals and medical providers.
