Basic Purpose of The Job Under the direction of the CFO, the Director of BusinessAnalytics serves as an integral support function to the organization overseeing the hospital's Business Analytics department. The purpose of the Department is to provide and interpret accurate, useful and timely financial, utilization, clinical and market information to hospital leadership, departments and business units in order to enable effective strategic and operational decision making. Team members of the department may include cost and financial accountants, revenue cycle experts, clinical documentation experts and nurse informatics experts. Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Pro forma development Revenue integrity Long-term strategic financial planning Case based forecasting for budget and long term planning Collection and presentation of relevant market data Implementing and maintaining labor productivity standards Service line analysis and cost accounting Payer contract modeling Predictive modeling Charge master maintenance Support the financial audit function Coordination of Joint Annual Reporting Coordination of Tennessee Hospital Association data reporting Lean training Occasional project management Minimum Technical and Work Experience Requirements Five years of experience in: Financial analysis / interpretation Clinical, cost, quality and outcome data analysis / interpretation Market share reporting, analysis and interpretation Supervisory experience of high functioning team of professionals Intimate knowledge of hospital reimbursement methodology and payer contract modeling Expert level knowledge and utilization of Excel Knowledge of relational data bases Knowledge of hospital labor productivity standards Ability to communicate effectively with technical IT, financial peers, and clinical staff Knowledge of SQL reporting Ability to function effectively, both horiztonally and vertically, at all levels of the organization Excellent written communication skills Other Technical and Experience Requirements Preferred Knowledge of physician reimbursement Lean experience Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Planning, or other Healthcare related field Master's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred
