Summary: Jobs in this family are responsible for developing,testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying of applications and relatedinformation technologies. In addition, they are responsible for theestablishment, development, and promotion of standard architectures, as well ashardware and software components. This role provides consulting servicesregarding how to integrate information technologies into clinical and businessprocesses and the effective application of industry and organizationaltechnology standards.
This position is an independent contributing informationtechnology professional within the Systems Analyst family. This positiondevelops and applies their expertise in two or more application areas, strivingto ensure that applications and the related information technologies continueto meet the ever changing clinical and business requirements of theorganization. This position will also consult with personnel in the organizationalunits within area of responsibility to analyze current operational procedures,identify problems, learn specific input and output requirements and recommendsolutions that improve operations. Expected activities include but are notlimited to:
Monitoring the effectiveness of applications and related information technologies in meeting user requirements
Modification of applications as needed to meet user requirements
Definition and development of reports, performing application upgrades, resolution of problems and issues associated with installed applications and related information technologies
Diagnosis of failures encountered in application software and related technologies
Quality control of all application implementations/enhancements prior to release to customers
Maintaining an awareness of vendor and industry developments/plans in area(s) of responsibility
Communication and documentation of all relevant items and activities
Position requires at least 5 years of direct experience and a high school diploma or equivalent
A BA/BS degree in IS or Business is preferred
Prior hospital billing or financial analysis in a healthcare setting strongly preferred
Epic HB (Hospital Billing) certification and experience preferred
May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of education and/or experience stated above
Single billing office, GL, extracts, estimates and statements
Epiccertification is required within 9 months from offer, including 2 test retakes.
IfEpic certification/training is required, this position may require travel forthe first three to five months, which will include roughly one week out of towntravel per month.
