Expert clinician who works in collaboration with the interprofessional team to promote evidence-based practice for patients with complex respiratory conditions. Clinical Specialist with extensive knowledge of Respiratory Therapy in the NICU/PICU/Pediatric arena. Position needed to provide expert care for higher acuity neonatal and pediatric patient population a/w WCP. Utilizes skills as an educator, consultant, researcher and case manager to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective and quality care. Leads advancement of respiratory care practice at LR H.
* Standard Work Duties: Respiratory Care Adanced Practice Specialist - Facilitates the respiratory care of patients through prescription and implementation of advanced clinical practice, education, consultation and research. - Communicates advances in respiratory science and integrates into protocols, procedures and processes of care. - Participates in research via one or more of the following: data synthesis, research utilization; and translation of research into practice and/or generation of new investigations - Collaborates with multiple disciplines to benchmark current and future practice; demonstrates skill in visioning, driving innovation and motivating colleagues; consults interprofessional team on clinical issue to achieve optimal patient outcomes utilizing evidence-based findings. - Promotes the use of evidence-based respiratory care practice necessary for the advancement of patient care and respiratory care practice. Mentors experienced respiratory therapists. - Rounds daily on complex patients and participates in interprofessional rounds; assesses health status of patients by collecting and analyzing patient data and evaluating appropriateness of care.
Qualifications & Experience
Education Essential: * Associate Degree
Nonessential: * Bachelor Degree
Education Equivalent Experience: * Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Care Program
Nonessential: * Health or related field
L icenses Essential: Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of Florida.
Certifications Essential: One specialty credential, such as NPS, CPFT, AE-C) within one year of role.
Experience Essential: Minimum five years of experience as acute care RRT
