$12.88 per hour Must be able to train on days full time for up to 6 weeks.
Work Schedule: Various days including weekend rotations. Phlebotomy position, pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred. Must have reliable transportation since travel between all laboratory locations is required as needed. Able to work without close supervision
The Draw Station Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for the reception of Laboratory Outpatients. Reviews patient's orders, insurance information and obtains authorizations as required to determine reimbursable services. Dispenses Patient Privacy Notices, Contracts and ABN notices, obtaining patient signatures as required. Performs initial quick registration of patients presenting to the draw station. Clinical responsibilities include the collection and processing of laboratory specimens for testing; the operation of lab equipment which includes but is not limited to centrifuges, glucose monitoring devices, refrigerators etc. Clerical duties include, but are not limited to, filing, sorting, scanning documents, phone reception, etc... in addition to basic computer skills in the Laboratory Information System.
