Performs diagnostic ultrasound in a Cardiovascular Department. A Level 3 (Primary Echocardiographer) sonographer must specialize in echocardiography. They must have a minimum of 800 points on the skill based on the Cardiovascular Career Ladder. The primary role is in the echocardiography laboratory and they will be required to perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echo. Skills in vascular testing or echocardiography beyond these core competencies will be evaluated and awarded in accordance with the departmental skill based career ladder. The posistion may require after hours and rotating call responsabilities.
