Ideal background is someone who has worked in an academic medical center with a strong background in business operations, growth & strategy, data analytics, development of market share and lean process improvement who excels in communication and working collaboratively with all parties involved.

Ideal person will act like a “mini CEO” – having the ability to see far and wide. Large breath & depth of responsibility over all things operations, strategy, market share, expanding the reach outside of CA, data, analytics and goal setting – more INFLUENCE rather than just line responsibility. Must have strong communication skills and very collaborative in nature – heavy relationship type of role that is highly visible. Very important for this person to balance the relationship with the school of medicine and the hospital – they will have to be operational and see big picture. Person will need to have the ability to fully execute all business plans and have a solid plan for performance measurements. Experience working in a fast-paced environment that changes and evolves often. Prefer someone with a lean background or some lean experience. Must be able to clearly define the strategic goals of the department(s) and fully develop a business plan on how to achieve this.
Full responsibility for leading the strategic planning, business development and the overall responsibility for the service, quality and financial performance of the services lines.
Oversees clinical benchmarking and public reporting processes of Centers of Excellence and organizes medical staff and clinical team strategies to improve outcomes and efficiencies for key populations in the service.
Collaborates well with the established joint ventures in addition to the hospital partnerships in northern California
Develops cost analysis systems for all the patients to be sure they are competitive, develops consolidated operating budgets including projected requirements with justifications and forecasting cash flow needs, develops strategic business and marketing plans to ensure growth, reputation, stability and strong financial performance for these Centers of Excellence.
Very flexible with the service lines the person has been over
Prefer Masters degree in a work related discipline / field from an accredited college or university.
Broad and extensive experience managing and leading programs, work units or departments of comparable size, scope and complexity. Prefer someone who has worked in an academic medical center
