Nemours is seeking a Behavior Analyst - BCBA (CASUAL), to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.
Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.
To implement individual teaching programs with children. Train behavior technicians and parents on behavior analytic principles and competencies
Direct Patient Care Responsibilities
Management of cases that includes communicating with parents/caregivers and other therapists to address issues such as data collection, graphing, and programmatic decisions.
Design acquisition and deceleration programs, treatment plans, data sheets, and graphs to meet goals for each assigned child with supervision of BCBA.
Develop training materials that are up-to-date with current technologies in the field as needed.
Collect and analyze data for each child's performance â“ graphs must be updated at least weekly.
Present case studies and data to supervisor and in goup staff meetings.
Assist and plan traning for Behavior Techs in accordance to 4th Edition Task List
Communicate with parents to ensure that the consumer service model is followed.
Complete quarterly reviews of programs, data, and progress on all assigned cases.
Ensure data and charting for all assigned cases are updated and accurate.
Attend all weekly staff meetings and case reviews.
Conduct individual teaching sessions for each child as assigned.
Assist in data collection and research studies.
Provide regular feedback to Lead Behavior Analyst on all activities at Nemours as dictated by clinical concerns.
Adheres to all Nemours policies and procedures
Perform all other duties as required.
Indirect Patient Care Responsibilities
Staff development: Assesses existing and develops new activities that promote general knowledge and professionalism within the department; participates in peer review process; attends inservices/continuing education and provides updates in the form of inservices to associates.
CQI: Participates in program, discipline, specialty, and hospital-wide CQI projects.
Assessment and Treatment: Contributes to discipline and program committees to enhance patient care; assists in assessing current procedures and in developing methods of improvement related to patient care.
Program Development: Participates in activities to increase program use, awareness, and marketing; participates in meeting goals of the department. Attends monthly program meetings.
Clinical Education: Assists in mentoring affiliating occupational therapy students, new occupational therapy staff, support personnel, and volunteers. Participates in student and volunteer program organization. Adequately and appropriately provides COTA supervision.
Teamwork: Participates in a single discipline, multi-disciplinary, or specialty team.
Professional Development: Develops ties with professional organizations. Provides educational inservices and experiences to the discipline/program/community; attends occupational therapy meetings as scheduled in the hospital; may participate in promotional activities for occupational therapy and/or in hospital.
Weekend Rehab Rotation: Checks crash cart per hospital policy.
B.A. or B.S in Psychology or related field required. M.A. or M.S. preferred
Minimum of 1 year job related experience required
BCBA Certification in Behavior Analysis is required
