Primary Function:Accountable for timely delivery, quality &; safety, cost and Associate engagement of construction projects. Responsible for superior construction project management of minor and major renovations, and new construction projects. Scope is the Nemours enterprise in the Delaware Valley. Work collaboratively with planning and interior design staff in Nemours Corporate Facilities and Architect. The position is the key leader in working with stakeholders to define program, lead design process with Architect, as appropriate, establish and achieve project budgets that foster good stewardship of Nemours resources, establish and achieve project timelines that meet organizational objectives. Manage project through occupancy &; punch list completion. Essential Functions:
Manage renovation and new healthcare construction projects. Work with Director &; Senior Management to achieve project goals. Formulate construction management solutions and contingency plans.
Responsible for the management of construction and occupancy phases of construction and renovation projects. Key leadership stakeholder and participant in project planning and design for project. Ensure the successful completion of construction and renovation projects and compliance with applicable codes and facility standards. Knowledge of regulatory agency codes, standards and general requirements for healthcare construction. Review drawings and specifications for renovation and construction projects and ensure quality of delivery and compliance with code requirements and contract documents. Knowledge of drawings, specifications in the reading of construction documents such as blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
Responsible for managing project activities with hospital associates to minimize impacts to families and patients. Participates in daily huddles with department, contractors and end users to communicate and coordinate activities. Responsible for maintaining facility ICRA requirements with project managers, contractors, in coordination with Hospital facilities safety and infection control departments. Presents projects at PCRA/ICRA Committee for review.
Develop cost estimates and budgets and presents these to Director and Hospital &; Practice Administration. Monitor and achieve established project budgets. Review change orders and variation from budget and presents contingency plans to reduce variance from established budgets.
Develop, track and achieve project schedules and milestones.
Utilize Continuous Improvement methodologies/tools to drive improvement in departmental &; N/AIDHC True North goals.
Participate in interviewing and selection of Nemours Construction Management applicants. Actively manage project contractors including trades and crafts, Site Superintendents and Supervisors for adherence to Nemours quality, delivery, cost and safety expectations.
Assists leadership in formulation of departmental goals, objectives and standards through development and revision of policies and procedures.
Actively participate and provide key leadership to support projects designated for Integrated Facility Design (IFD).
Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, may be assigned from time to time by Director
Bachelors Degree.Significant healthcare construction project management experience may be considered in place of a baccalaureate degree.More than 5 years of job related experience. PE Professional Engineering license or Architect preferred but not required.Significant construction project management experience, including healthcare construction management required.
