Senior Software Systems Engineer needed for The Nemours Foundation in Jacksonville, FL to architect, develop, test, and document web-based Enterprise Java applications providing patient and provider interaction with EPIC EHR System using Interconnect, Clarity/Cache data models, and web service integrations using Agile methodology. Design and implement load balanced proxy-based secure architectures meeting HIPAA standards for public-facing applications interfacing with EHR systems. Monitor daily operation of applications and plan for deployment of Enterprise Java applications into secure production environments. Assess, recommend, and supervise outsourced application developers and vendors. Research new technologies, assess compatibility with current and future system needs, and plan for incorporation of new technologies into Enterprise Java environment. Design, develop, test, and document Java web services, applications, and components of applications interacting with business support systems (HR, finance, billing), including developing apps for mobile and responsive web. Tests, troubleshoots, and analyzes complex system problem and determines solution. Must be on call 24 hours a day x 7 days a week in case of a problem with live applications. Assess current technologies and internal process to recommend system and operational improvements. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field; or foreign equivalent, and five (5) years of experience in Java-based web application development within a healthcare environment.
