Just like the children we serve, Children's is growing quickly and hiring a Staff RN for our Employee Health department. Provide care for employees involved in work-related injuries and illnesses. Coordinate all first report of injury and worker's compensation claims. Support the department with annual and post-offer compliance reviews as well as other clinic functions. Develop and facilitate training for injury reduction and safety improvements throughout the organization.

Provides follow-up care for employees involved in work-related injury/illness and blood/bodily fluid exposure.
Determines the need for follow-up of exposures according to BBF algorithm and CDC regulations.
Provide and refer, if needed, for further treatment specific to the client's needs regarding BBF exposure or the work injury.
Ensures communication of lab results, documentation and follow-up appointments to client, external vendors, department Manager/Supervisor and source's physician.
Obtains specimens needed for testing of blood, nasal swabs or specimens from wounds
Document care, follow-up, and assessments in the EMR system in an accurate and timely manner
Orders lab or x-rays appropriately and follows up regarding results.
Works as in house case manager in the processing and filing of worker's compensation claims and assists with questions.
Process and files worker's compensation claims.
Communicates information to the third-party administrator/other vendors, the injured employee and the injured employee's manger/supervisor.
Generates and maintains employee and applicant medical and worker's compensation files (actives and terms). Files all medical and worker's compensation information and keeps files up to date.
Ensures completion of the work comp paperwork to include employee/manager/EH/CARE4U forms
Ensures accuracy with the OSHA record keeping log and yearly auditing and posting of these logs as well as audits requested by the Department of Labor
Provides first aid as per the NP instructions or the evidence-based orders
Triages and refers for transport of higher care
Performs drug testing, blood draws, urine testing, strep testing and other appropriate tests, as well as administers immunizations according to department protocol and regulatory guidelines. Performs annual and post-offer compliance reviews for employees according to their job description. Participates in the annual flu vaccine campaign.
When applicable completes chain of custody forms and consents completely and accurately.
Communicates results to appropriate contact person.
Documents as well as forwards forms and specimens to the proper resource, when applicable.
Updates all medical records.
Performs TB testing and mask fitting.
Assists Manager with on-call activities for testing required outside of normal business hours
Initiates care for customers seen for services in EH/CARE4U
Answers the phone and schedules appointments as needed
Initiates action to correct, prevent, and/or minimize risk to employees (i.e. falls, needle punctures, lifting)
Completes report forms for employee injury/illness.
Analyzes trends in employee injury/illness, communicating to appropriate personnel regarding safety issues and offers suggestions for improvement.
Supports Manager with developing, facilitating and delivering appropriate safety training, actively seeking ways to improve safety records and reduce accidents.
Actively participates in committees related to safety and wellness
Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing required
Phlebotomy experience preferred
Employee Health and Worker's Compensation experience preferred
Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Current valid Nebraska RN license/RN Compact license required
NAOHN (National Association Occupational Health Nursing) certification preferred
