RN Orthopedic Unit
Our Surgical Services is comprised of fast paced and high energy comprehensive subspecialty areas which include: Surgery Unit A, Surgery Unit B, Orthopedic Unit, Neurosurgery Unit, Surgery ICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical Oncology Unit. We offer a variety of challenging and rewarding opportunities for both experienced and new nurses. Through the utilization of a multidisciplinary approach along with the collaboration of other University Health team members, we are able to provide the best quality patient care to our Shreveport-Bossier community.
Nursing care is provided in conformance with nursing and legal standards and in conjunction with hospital and nursing policies and procedures. The incumbent must be able to operate applicable computer systems to include: LINKS, and the fully-integrated Electronic Health Record system. The incumbent may rotate among various clinical units/floors of the division, and may rotate/extend assigned hours to accommodate increased patient census, acuity level, and/or to provide coverage for call-in's, etc. Demonstrates a high level of competency in independent clinical practice and a beginning level of competency in leadership skills. The incumbent in this position functions as a team leader, directing others in providing patient care while actually providing certain aspects of care. As a team leader, the incumbent assumes accountability for the performance of team members. As required, the incumbent assumes the responsibilities of charge nurse for a prescribed tour of duty.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Must hold current licensure by the State Board of Nursing Licensure and Registration.
