RN Operating Room
Perioperative Services at University Health is comprised of: Operative Services, Post Anesthesia Care, Pre Anesthesia Testing, Day Surgery, Endoscopy Lab and GI Clinic. As one of the state of Louisiana's Level 1 trauma centers, University Health provides the utmost critical surgical care in the Shreveport â“Bossier area. Our highly diversified teams consist of specially trained physicians, registered nurses, and surgical technicians. Our team members are dedicated to providing the most comfortable and highest quality experience for patients as possible. The operating room utilizes the newest surgical techniques available including robotic surgery, and updated standards to provide safe and effective care.
Surgical specialties represented at University Health include: cardiovascular, general, pediatric, plastic, trauma, vascular, urology, orthopedics, ENT, neurosurgery, and oral maxillofacial surgery. We also offer specialized care in surgical oncology services as well.
Renders professional nursing services in the treatment and care of assigned patients in accordance with physicians' orders. Provides for the comfort and well-being of patients by assessing condition, providing treatments and administering prescribed drugs and documenting progress and other observations. Coordinates nursing care for patients and participates in patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Must hold current licensure by the State Board of Nursing Licensure and Registration.
