Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife (dual certified)

We are seeking a full-time, 1.0 FTE dual-certified Nurse Midwife/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitionerto join our growing obstetrics team in Park Rapids, MN! This high-volume practice provides a wonderful small-town feel and team-focused atmosphere for someone to truly settle into a warm and welcoming community. Entire provider team includes Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Nurse Midwifery, General Surgery and Behavioral Health with exceptional support staff and a number of outreach specialty services provided weekly/monthly. Our beautiful clinic is directly attached to CHI St. Joseph's hospital and located in the heart of Minnesota lake country.
Hours between Mon-Fri from 8:30 am-5:00 pm (32 contact hours with remainder of time considered within call schedule)
Established patient-base; 18+ patients per day
Procedures anticipated but will vary per day
OB call coverage at CHI St. Joseph's is 1:6
2 dual-certified CNM/NPs currently in department and actively recruiting OB/GYN or Fam Med with OB physicians
On-site equipment includes ultrasound, MRI, CT, Nuc Med
Outreach to Menahga and Walker clinics; anticipate same hours and patients per day
Must be able to perform vacuum assisted deliveries (training can be arranged), 3rd degree episiotomy repairs and basic neonatal resuscitation. C-sections provided by our General Surgeons.
Seeking experienced candidates, but will consider new graduates if strong L&D background,
Skill set should include, but are not limited to: pre- &; post-natal care, deliveries, follow-up care, annual exams including pap smears /pelvic examinations, birth control management, colposcopy (clinic procedure), well-baby exams and circumcisions.
The Certified Nurse Midwife performs care that focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, the post-partum period and the family planning and gynecological needs of women. CNM's work interdependently with physicians with whom they consult and to whom they refer patients who develop complications requiring physician care. They will also provide antepartum, postpartum and gynecologic care to essentially normal women.
The Nurse Practitioner utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP will provide health care to individuals emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention and disease management. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree (preferred) in nurse midwifery and/or an accredited and certified registered nurse midwifery program as approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner Women's Health or Family program from an accredited program/institution.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state
Current Licensure identifying practitioner as a certified nurse midwife in appropriate state.
Hold membership with the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Current certification in CPR.
National certification, in applicable areas
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
