The Behavioral Health Psychiatric Professional 3, Team Leader, supervises and helps implement the intervention being examined in the NIMH funded study. Project staff will collaborate with sites in two other states during a five year period. This position's responsibilities will be organized around five work areas: 1) Designing and implementing individual subjects' interventions and supervising a team of community health workers to implement interventions; 2) Supervising case coordinators in the design and implementation of individual subjects' interventions, including conducting functional behavior assessments; 3) Supervision of IT assistants/ lab members acquiring BCBA hours; 4) Coaching families in the project to implement the intervention in their interactions with their children; and 5) Working with the project team, including the PI, Chief, Assistant Chief, to carry out the project at very high levels of ethics and professionalism.REQUIRED-- Master's Degree Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or other related field --Experience and training in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis --BCBA certification--Experience and training in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)--Significant experience in implementing empirically based educational/intervention strategies for children with autism ages 2- 6 in home and community settings; experience training and supervising others to design and implement such interventions at high levels of fidelity of implementation --Experience with child assessment to assess educational needs and autism symptoms--Experience and training in Discrete Trial Training--Demonstrated ability in working independently, taking initiative, making critical decisions, communicating ideas, and contributing actively to a team--Training and experience in use of empirically supported educational interventions for children and youth with autism ages 2 ' 6--Experience in helping parents to use effective management/teaching strategies at home--Skills and experience writing teaching materials, procedure manuals, and reports --Training and experience writing measurable educational objectives, conducting task analyses, and collecting ongoing performance data--Training and experience conducting functional analyses/assessments of behavior--Demonstrated leadership ability, involving experience organizing, supervising, and encouraging staff--Valid Driver's license--Able to travel by car to family homesSPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
