This role will be responsible for helping to set the strategic direction and driving the execution and management of East Tennessee Children's Hospital's benefit programs. This position will lead the development and implementation of new and existing benefit and compensation programs, including retirement, 403(b), medical, dental, pharmacy, and other voluntary benefit programs. Compensation program responsibilities will include 457s, incentive compensation, and best practices in staying competitive within the market. Provides consultative services to senior leadership, assisting in the translation of effective benefit and compensation programs that support the business strategies. Acts as relationship manager for payroll and Finance. Leads projects in areas such as vendor search, market pricing, and contract negotiation. Review and support ad hoc data requests for HR projects and proposals as determined by the VP of HR. Day-to-day administration and monitoring of relative department operations. Will have expectations to roll up your sleeves and work helping front line staff.
Masters degree in Human Resources Management or other related field
Minimum Work Experience
5-7 years of similar experience, preferably in healthcare/hospital and as a leader
Mastery level knowledge and experience in compensation, benefits, and especially retirement programs
Required Licenses/Certifications for position
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or other combination of comparable World at Work certifications, is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Expert knowledge of compensation, benefits, and applicable regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated knowledge and capability to manage and support the design of compensation models and establishing pay ranges.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate, and communicate effectively to all levels of the workplace and marketplace
Must display strong self initiative and demonstrated ability of analytical skills and accomplished project management.
Strong experience with conducting market survey analysis to make sound recommendations on competitive pay practices.

Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
