Summary: The Epic Web and Service Server Administrator is a critical, hands-on role that involves the installation and administration of the Epic web and service server software. The administrator performs configuration, deployment, proactive monitoring and maintenance. This role will partner with the Infrastructure, Platform and Desktop teams to optimize Epic server installation and performance. They are in charge of installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs, managing, system mail configuration, print queues, performing file system maintenance, installing monitoring tools, understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues. Other skills necessary for this role include incident\request management and the production of management and exception reports.
Expertise in the Microsoft Windows server administration
Expertise in your chosen virtualization platform such as Citrix XenServer, VMware ESXi, or Microsoft Hyper-V
Experience with hardware or software load balancing solutions such as Netscalar
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) administration
Network protocols and functionality
Position requires at least 3 years of direct experience and a high school diploma or equivalent OR an Associate's Degree in IS and at least 2 years of direct experience.
BA/BS degree in IS or Business is preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) preferred
If not currently Epic certified, musttake and pass the Epic pre-test.
Certification is required within 6 months fromemployment, including 2 test retakes.
