CHND (Children's Hospital's Neonatal Database) Coordinator/Data Entry is primarily responsible for the day-to-day collection of in-patient clinical data for the CHND data set. She/he will insure accurate recording of all CHND data elements and entry of that data into the Web-based data entry system and will oversee, as necessary, other data-extractors in completion of the CHND data.
Responsibility #1 â“ Oversee site preparation for participation in CHND:
Act as Site representative to the CHNC (Children's Hospital's Neonatal Consortium)-DATA team
Assist site physician sponsor in completing steps for participation
Coordinate site's completion of training and certification
Train data management staff
Establish procedures for data security and patient privacy
Responsibility #2 - Oversee and coordinate CHNC-DATA data collection:
Create systems within site to ensure all NICU admissions are captured
Complete and oversee data collection and data entry carefully and accurately as per site's protocol and manual of Operations definitions
Participate in the CHNC-DATA Listserv discussions by posting and answering questions; relay pertinent information from the Listserv to remainder of the data collection team
Responsibility #3 - Oversee data reporting:
Consult with physicians sponsor regarding data reporting responsibilities
Complete CHNC-DATA report requests as per internal policies
Minimum requirements include:
Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree
Active nursing license in State of Delaware
Minimum 5 years in clinical health care role required, experience in a Level III/IV NICU preferred
Knowledge of patient privacy and healthcare industry issues, e.g. HIPAA, and knowledge of neonatal patient care practices
