The Cert Occupational Therapy Asst performs patient treatments and patient care activities under general supervision of a Registered, Licensed Occupational Therapist. The Cert Occupational Therapy Asst is directly responsible to an Occupational Therapist for the performance of duties as assigned and supervised by a therapist.REQUIRED--Must possess current National Certification by NBCOT.--Must possess current CPR certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)--Knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practices.--Technical competency in occupational therapy treatment modalities including activities of daily living and transfer training, strengthening, coordination, balance, range of motion, perceptual cognitive skills training, wheelchair manipulation skills, fabrication of adapted devices.--Skill in establishing and maintaining good rapport with patients and their families.--Skill in training patients and family members in follow-through and home programs.--Ability to write progress notes and other written reports as requested.--Ability to organize and coordinate scheduling of patients in assigned areas of responsibility.--Knowledge of appropriate information required for patient and supply record keeping. Skill in organizing written material.PREFERRED--Acute Care and/ or Inpatient Rehab experience.--Experience working with pediatric patients.--Experience with electronic medical record.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT--Ability to work occasional overtime. - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
