Summary: This position supports quality and safetydesigned to improve patient outcomes and reduce risk of patient harm. Thisposition will also be called upon to assist in coaching others in methods thatwill improve safety and quality of care. The Quality Improvement Coordinator isthe lead team member in developing regular statistical reports, data gatheringand data management and ad hoc statistical reports, as related to qualityprojects and initiatives at CCMC. In addition, this position will be calledupon to facilitate quality teams, chair groups and subgroups and will beexpected to work closely with all staff hospital-wide on specific qualityprojects. This person works closely with Information Technology to support EMRdevelopment, audit and report quality efforts. In addition, the QualityImprovement Coordinator may support, facilitate and or lead internal andexternal multidisciplinary improvement projects which may include auditing anddata submission for SPS, NSQIP, CHA, CHAT and other collaboratives as indicated.This position may lead the operations of these projects, support the educationof staff and serve as subject matter expert regarding safety and improvementscience.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required with a minimum of 3years clinical nursing experience, 3 years quality improvement, education, orprocess improvement experience.
Master's in business or a health related field a plus.
Must have understanding of Quality Improvement methodology andbe knowledgeable in data collection and analysis.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills,organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work with all members ofthe health care team to achieve positive outcomes.
Must be able to adapt to changing healthcare environment andrequirements.
Must be computer literate and proficient in use of wordprocessing applications, spreadsheet programs, database applications, and useof web-based technology to find resource information.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
Valid Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Requires Quality or Patient Safety Certification within 3years of date of hire.
