DUTIES: The Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to join an active pediatric endocrinology program based at University Hospital of Brooklyn (UHB) and Kings County Hospital (KCH). The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is responsible for providing specialized care to children suffering from endocrinological disorders, involving all aspects of pediatric, adolescent and youth adult diabetes and obesity management. Clinical responsibilities will include providing inpatient consolations as well as outpatient sessions at both UHB and KCH. Clinical responsibilities at UHB are focused on providing 2-4 ambulatory care sessions in the Pediatric Faculty Practice and UHB based clinics, providing inpatient consultations in rotation with other members of the division and overseeing growth hormone stimulation testing on the pediatric inpatient unit. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the operation of the Pediatric Endocrine Center at University Hospital. With regard to the academic responsibilities, the incumbent will be expected to participate in the student teaching program and supervise the pediatric endocrine fellowship. In this capacity, the pediatric endocrinologist will be expected to contribute to the pediatric endocrinology educational programs in the Department, including maintaining our subspecialty-training program in pediatric endocrinology as a fully accredited program. The incumbent will also be expected to participate in the clinical research activity within the Division resulting in hypothesis-based research and the acquisition of extra mural grant support.
