The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago invites applications for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor, Pediatric Pathologist and Hematopathologist. This full-time, continuing position carries a primary faculty appointment at Northwestern University, at a rank and salary commensurate with experience and academic activity. The candidate should be board certified in Anatomic pathology and board certified or eligible in Hematology and Pediatric Pathology. Teaching of pathology and hematology/oncology residents and fellows is expected. Clinical responsibilities include the interpretation of pediatric surgical pathology, bone marrow aspirates and biopsies, lymph node biopsies, and for the inclusion of flow cytometry and cytogenetics, and molecular analysis into the evaluation when appropriate. Teaching of residents, medical students, and fellows is an important part of our mission. Lurie Children’s is a financially independent, multi-specialty, free-standing hospital that provides tertiary care pediatric services, with active programs in all pediatric specialties including infectious disease, hematology and oncology, stem cell and solid organ transplantation. It also offers a rapidly expanding research facility and vibrant research environment.
