The CHEF Assistant Instructor will serve as a teacher and role model, teaching CHEF class objectives and inspiring patients and their families to prepare more healthy meals at home. The CHEF Assistant Instructor serves as a support to the Chef/Program Director (Director), Nutrition Education Specialist/ Registered Dietitian (RD), and Medical Director (MD) of CHEF. The Assistant Instructor's main duties include preparing for and leading culinary health classes for patients and families that have been referred to CHEF by their pediatrician or other medical provider. The ideal candidate has knowledge in dietetics and/or nutrition science, preferably community health nutrition, and working knowledge of the culinary arts. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and families; healthy eating and cooking; and community-based education and teaching. The Chef/Program Director sets the overall objectives and provides general supervision. Onboarding will include training with the CHEF team to understand the referral process and documentation, CHEF class objectives, class flow, cooking demonstration strategies, and teaching kitchen procedures. This position is ideal for an entry-level Registered Dietitian or recent graduate of a dietetics course.
