Unique in scope and primed for interdisciplinary scholarship, the UVA Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) two-year Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is designed for an emerging scholar committed to a research career in the field of pediatric, neonatal, maternal-child or family health research.
The SIF post-doc will join an existing principal investigator as part of the transforming clinical research, education and practice teams.
Collaborate in one of the following programs of research areas: Children with medical complexity and serious illness, optimization of clinical trials for children, big data/predictive analytics in pediatric care settings, health policy related to children's health; Maternal mental health and early childhood outcomes; biological indices of maternal stress; disability and reproductive health outcomes
The position offers: � Robust collaborations within nursing and with UVA's Schools of Medicine, Architecture, Education and Engineering � Guidance in developing and conducting research, and close mentoring in grant writing, manuscript preparation and publication; � Support for scholarly engagement at national and international levels through attendance at scientific meetings and presentations; � A generous salary, with benefits.
The successful candidate is required to have a terminal degree (PhD) by start date and have demonstrated a focus in one of the following areas: pediatric, neonatal, maternal-child, or family health. RN with PhD strongly encouraged. Backgrounds in the any of the following are highly desirable: developmental pediatrics, brain development, traumatic brain injury, ICU environments, pediatric complex care, maternal-child health, data science, clinical monitoring, and emerging technology.
Though part of an interdisciplinary research team, the post-doc research associate must also be able to work independently.
