SUMMARY: The recreational therapist is responsible for implementing therapeutic recreational activities for all psychiatry inpatients and PHP patients.This includes: program planning, treatment implementation and documentation.The therapist will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver an integrated plan of care. In addition, the recreational therapist will oversee the financial aspects of the recreational therapy cost center in order to provide therapeutic supplies for the entire psychiatry department.
QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Recreational Therapy. Pediatric and psychiatric experience preferred. Experience/Training in Experiential Therapy preferred. 1 year of Recreational Therapy experience. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred. BLS or must be completed within 60 days of start date. CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
