Summary: The Specialist works collaboratively withteams and department leaders throughout Cook Children Healthcare System todemonstrate our values and achieve "Our Promise" through theimplementation of process improvement initiatives and programs. The Specialistacts as an organizational process improvement champion who leads departmentaland cross-functional teams through all aspects of the continuous improvementeffort using Lean, Six Sigma and other effective strategies and methodologies.The Specialist facilitates the identification, understanding and improvement ofprocess issues by using appropriate quantitative and qualitative tools. The Specialist will assist with the development and delivery of processimprovement training and education to the organization. As an agent ofchange, the specialist will serve as a catalyst to create a culture thatcontinuously strives for operational excellence and embraces the principles ofprocess improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Nursing, orother clinical discipline; Master's degree a plus.
1-3 years of proven experience in Process Improvement usingLean and Six Sigma; Healthcare experience is a plus.
Experienced and passionate process improvement leader andeducator (formal or informal), with proven problem solvingexperience.
Strong communication, facilitation and collaboration skillswith demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary groups.
Trusted professional credibility and proven record ofperformance with basic analytical and statisticalmethods.
Demonstrated understanding and application of basicsoftware: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Minitab.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is required. ASQ orIIE Certification is strongly preferred; Certifications from other entitieswill be evaluated.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and/or CertifiedProfessional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) are preferred complements.
