Visit www.sclhealthsystem.org Description Leads the design, development, implementation and monitoring of clinical risk, patient safety and high reliability organizing (HRO). Leads program development, implementation and oversight of patient safety education and prevention programs including but not limited to error prevention, high reliability leadership methods, Care 4 Us (second victim support program) and safety coach activities. Manages safety assessments/surveys across all care sites and locations. Collaborates with system and care site teams to support achievement of national patient safety goals. Provides support to care sites and partner department in meeting safety related organizational goals. Leads teams and system-wide efforts to improve key safety and high reliability outcomes. Collaborates with care site leaders to improve understanding of data/information related to the organization�s performance in safety and high reliability and methods for improving performance. Educates practitioners on the system-based causes for medical errors including root cause analysis, apparent cause analysis, and common cause analysis. Develops and refines internal communications for the patient safety function, including lessons learned from cause analysis. Collaborates with management and associates to communicate literature-based ideas regarding effective patient safety strategies to others within the organization. Conducts research to support department programming as requested by the Directors of Clinical Risk Management and Patient Safety/HRO. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Broomfield, CO. Qualifications Education: Required: Associate's Level Degree Preferred: Master's Degree in areas including but not limited to health care, engineering, information technology and business or health care administration is preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Required: RN License is required Preferred: Certification in Patient Safety, Certification in health care quality, lean or six sigma Experience: Required: Eight years of experience in health care safety and high reliability or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preferred: Previous work experience in a clinical setting, previous work experience in a Corporate or multi-hospital system, Author or co-author in professional health care journal, previous work experience with Lean process improvement.
