The Columbus Organization is expanding its team psychologists in south central Los Angeles, CA. Immediate full time opening for Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) for community based outpatient setting. . Must be fluent in English-Spanish.

Psychologist Job Description:
Participate in fair hearings, planning committee staffings, and core staffings
Provide consultation to and participate on the Infants Eligibility and Re-determination Teams which includes chart review
Serve mental health liaison to various agencies Periodically visit mental health agencies in our catchment area to maintain contact with appropriate personnel for referral
Maintain a log of agencies that can be referred to by our service coordinators for their consumer referrals
Provide general consultation and periodic training to service coordinators
Assist the Psychologist II in recruiting and supervising vendors Review and approve vendor psychological evaluation reports
Provide general consultations and in-service training to families Represent agency at state wide and local regional center psychologists meetings such as county mental health liaison committee meetings and mental health/regional center collaborative meetings
Review and approve all psychological evaluation POS requests
Review and sign off on POS requests for long-term psychiatric hospitalization placements
Consult with the Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Hospital Tracker Consultant on consumers who are hospitalized and their follow-up care Participate with the Bio-Behavioral Consultation Clinic Participate in outreach activities with Intake staff
Knowledge of persons with developmental and mental disabilities; behavior management theory, principles and practices; psychopathology; developmental psychology; counseling techniques; crisis intervention; theories and practices of psychological testing; quality management principles; effective training methods; community services and resources.
Ability to make oral and written presentations
Effectively plan and organize various job requirements
Project a positive attitude
Adhere to highest standards of quality in an efficient manner; adapt to changing priorities.
Doctoral Degree in Psychology
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience with pediatric population
Experience working for mental health community agencies
Bilingual-Fluent in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
