The HRIS Analyst II reports to the HRIS manager. This position partners with HR directors and their customers to analyze work process design and flow, improve processes and leverage the return on technological capabilities. The HRIS Analyst II builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to set technology priorities and conduct long-term planning. This position also serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional area and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Analyst II also supports upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.
The HRIS Analyst II provides production support including, but not limited to, researching and resolving system related problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities; recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
The HRIS Analyst II manages projects and process improvement initiatives. They identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities. Compares data from different sources to draw conclusions. Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions. Takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences. Uses this data to build project plans and ensure adherence to schedule and other specifications. Utilizes interpersonal skills when working with various customers and peers to accomplish project goals. Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy, which must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.
The HRIS Analyst II develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation and trains clients on new processes/functionality.
Maintains awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increases both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Participates in user group meetings/conferences.

Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Associates Degree, equivalent work experience in a related area may be considered in lieu of education.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Incumbents must have five or more years of experience working in Human Resources with HRIS Systems.
- Project Management experience is preferred.
- Lawson, Kronos and Taleo experience is preferred.

Incumbent must have a strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation. Strong understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools. Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills. Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.
