Schedule: Per Requested Need. 1 day per week
Shift: Mainly Business Hours M-F
Responsible for counseling services including assessment and evaluation of potential Bariatric surgery patients, patients at risk, counseling, pre and post-surgical outcomes testing, follow-up treatment and patient education. Performs initial clinical evaluations as well as recommendations for disposition and assisting with coordinating continuity of care. Evaluations are completed utilizing a general systems model examining the biological, psychological and social aspects of each patient while focusing on strengths based perspective. Serves as a member of the Psychiatric Liaison team, promoting teamwork within the Psychiatric/ Mental Health Team, Program Clinical Staff, and Program Medical Director, provides or coordinates comprehensive, interdisciplinary care of the bariatric patient supportive of successful patient outcomes. Serves as a patient advocate and as a representative of the department in the community at large.
Minimum Education Requirements
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field
Minimum Experience Requirements
Two years of direct behavioral clinical experience providing individual, group or family therapy in an inpatient or outpatient setting Previous experience with Bariatric patients preferred Demonstrates a working knowledge of theories of psychology and therapeutic interventions/or addictions Demonstrates conflict resolution, problem solving and critical thinking skills necessary to implement safe and effective care Competence with DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment planning. Demonstrates clinical and ethical professionalism, conflict resolution and critical thinking skills
Current Colorado State License in one of the following disciplines: Clinical Psychologist (PSY), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR Registered Psychotherapist with the State of Colorado (must obtain Colorado professional licensure within one year of hire/transfer) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
