JOB DUTIES: The Genetic Counselor demonstrates expertise in the genetic evaluation and counseling of individuals and families, including obtaining comprehensive history, constructing family pedigree and providing genetic counseling.. Performs administrative duties such as location of prior medical records. Initiates/implements genetic research projects. Works in collaboration with MD or inter-disciplinary health team in planning, implementing and evaluating ongoing care and education for patient/family. Responsible for assessment and counseling of individuals/ families, and identifies findings which require further assessment. Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
SCHEDULED HOURS: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Saint Petersburg, FL
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree from an ABGC/ACGC-accredited genetic counseling training program. Must be Board-eligible or Certified in genetic counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
