The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care for patients in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic, including the MSH Spasticity Program at Schwab.
Develops an initial assessment for each patient using patient, families,, significant others and other allied health as sources of information when appropriate.
The RN will perform wound assessments and management, and will complete supply forms. Wound assessments may be in conjunction with the attending physician.
The RN will change suprapubic and Foley catheters, teach bladder management techniques, including irrigation, and collect urine samples for analysis when UTI is in question.
The RN will assist in positioning of patients, including the use of lift equipment as available.
Assesses patients for pain. If pain is present assesses location, quality, and intensity, alleviating and aggravating factors.
Completes pre-approved Botox Treatments
Completes refills of Baclofen pumps, including scheduling, and follows up with no show patients to avoid complications related to empty pumps
Takes appropriate action in anticipation of potential or actual life threatening or emergency situations

have a hospital-based rehabilitation-focused short-term sub-acute unit at Schwab that provides both
therapy and nursing services with exceptional outcomes.
Our rehabilitation team takes a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to address the physical, cognitive
and psychosocial needs of each patient. Each patient is assessed and provided with a personalized care
plan tailored to help achieve maximal independence and function. Schwab offers seven treatment
gyms featuring private treatment rooms, a warm-water indoor therapy pool, and an award-winning
therapeutic roof top garden.
