Pediatric Anesthesiologist Clinician-Scientist

Location: IU School of Medicine Department: IUSM - Anesthesia Campus: IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Announcement: Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, Indianapolis and the Department of Anesthesia at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) seek candidates for two Assistant or Associate or Full Professor non-tenure or tenure track positions of academically and research oriented pediatric anesthesiologists. Riley Hospital for Children currently has the highest NIH and industry funding for pediatric anesthesia clinician-scientists in the country. These additional faculty positions will further accelerate and improve a positive academic/research momentum at Riley Hospital for Children with a funded research infrastructure, Center for Anesthesia Research Excellence (CARE) at the Department of Anesthesia, IUSM. This provides the best pediatric anesthesia academic career advancement opportunities for high impact research in a rapidly growing clinical volume setting of Riley Hospital for Children. We are seeking talented, highly motivated individuals with ACGME Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship training. Pediatric Anesthesiology Board Certification or eligibility is required. The successful applicant will have clinical experience in the field of pediatric anesthesiology, pain management and pediatric cardiac anesthesia in addition to clinical, translational or basic research and academic mentoring experience. Candidates with track-record of research productivity, funding, mentoring experience would be given preference. Responsibilities include anesthesia practice and teaching of residents and fellows. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research, education and clinical care. ABA certification with sub-specialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Indiana licensure required. Our current research portfolio includes programs in pain medicine, patient safety, quality improvement, neurosciences, opioid pharmacogenomics and personalized perioperative medicine. Collaborative institutional research is supported by Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana CTSI and various research cores.
