The State of New Jersey's leading comprehensive biomedical research institute for childhood diseases, the Rutgers Child Health Institute of New Jersey (CHINJ), invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. New investigators will be expected to expand and enhance the core mission of the institute, which seeks to improve children's health through the scientific study of pediatric illnesses, including asthma, type 1 diabetes, autism, pediatric cancers, and endocrine disorders. Outstanding applicants in the broad areas of immunology, neurodevelopment, cancer, obesity and metabolism will be considered. Research programs of interest include basic, translational and prevention studies and preference will be given to those individuals whose work has direct implications for pediatrics and child health.
CHINJ's faculty have outstanding opportunities for collaboration with colleagues at RWJMS including the Department of Pediatrics, Rutgers University and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The CHINJ is located in a 150,000 sq. ft. research and pediatric clinical facility that is the hub of the Children's Academic Health campus at Rutgers, comprised of the RWJMS Department of Pediatrics as well as the adjacent to Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital, creating an international center of excellence in pediatric care and child health research.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree and outstanding academic credentials. Applications from physician-scientists are encouraged.
