Under direct supervision, provide support for research related toautism spectrum disorders. This includes providing support for psychologistsand research staff working with families of children with autism spectrumdisorder, reviewing medical and educational records, providing administrativesupport for the laboratory, assisting in general laboratory maintenance, andcollecting, entering, and assisting in the organization and analysis of data.
1. Collectand organize data from a variety of reference sources
a. Preparecharts, graphs, and tables according to accepted research practices
b. Performpreliminary analysis
2. Assistin investigating and gathering data
a. Routequestionnaires, record information and distribute results using establishedprocedures
b. Assistwith recruiting and interviewing study participants
c. Reviewand extract pertinent information from medical and educational records
3. Provideappropriate documentation for research
a. Updatemanual and/or automated database file and maintain records
4. Assistin the preparation of materials for publication
a. Editand/or type manuscripts according to accepted practices
5. Keepabreast of trends in field of study
a. Readprofessional journals and attend meetings and/or seminars
6. Supportpsychologists and research staff during participant appointments
a. Consentfamilies for research
b. Assistin supervising children during research appointments
c. Potentiallyassist with administering cognitive and adaptive measures
7. Maysupervise student assistants
a. Planand assign work
8. Mayassist in lab maintenance
a. Ordersupplies and equipment
b. Monitorand maintain inventory control
c. Ensurethat the appropriate materials are set up and taken down for research appointments
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and< 1 year experience
