The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Critical Care Medicine and the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC seek a new Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate will hold the titles of Division Chief, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, and Director, Critical Care Services, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and will lead a world-class division on a new state-of-the-art children's hospital campus. The division is internationally recognized for its excellent patient care, pre-eminent subspecialty training program, and outstanding basic and clinical research. The ideal candidate will have extensive clinical experience in the management of critically ill or injured infants and children, as well as those who have undergone major surgical procedures, a strong record of research with peer-reviewed funding and publications, and a commitment to fellow and resident education. He or she will have knowledge of major issues related to ICU, hospital, and medical school administration and excellent interpersonal and management skills. Certification in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine (or equivalent qualifications) and eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required. Academic credentials should qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
