The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a full time, tenure-stream associate or full time professor to develop and lead the Pittsburgh study, a "Framingham Study for Children." The study will define correlates of health of children in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania by following birth cohorts to adulthood with maximally broad data collection. We are looking to the children of Pittsburgh to teach us how all children can graduate from high school on time, healthy, and thriving. Candidates should possess recognized national leadership and expertise in population health research, an outstanding record of active, extramural funding, and a significant presence in the scientific literature. The networking, recruiting, and mentoring responsibilities require demonstrated commitment to responsive community engagement, institutional service, and research and professional advancement. Candidates should have administrative experience on the order of developing and managing large, multi site studies. Candidates should be able to share a vision for pivoting toward studying health. Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in epidemiology or a related field.
