The University of Pittsburgh, Pediatrics Department, is seeking a Research Technician.
The Research Technician is responsible for accurately performing research projects according to established study design and procedures in the Division of Medical Genetics. The successful candidate will help perform approved biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics research projects according to defined protocols and procedures. Handling and performing mammalian specimen experiments will be part of the responsibilities.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Performing laboratory procedures and tests, analyzing and interpreting data, preparing and disposing of reagents necessary for research, and maintaining lab inventory
- Experience in handling and maintaining mammalian specimen colonies will be a plus
- Flexibility with shift/hours
A Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, biology, or other similar basic science disciplines, and two years of experience is required. This position is located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment. EEO/AA/M/F/Vets/Disabled.
