Baystate Health is seeking a Part Time Child Life Specialist PPCN
What You Will Do:
As the Baystate Child Life Specialist you will be responsible for the development and implementation of child life support services to clients serviced by the Baystate VNAH pediatric Palliative Care and Hospice. Provides specialized therapy techniques to children with limited life expectancy and their siblings according to a medically approved plan of care, guided by standards and scope of practice and licensure.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Provide assessment and recommendations for therapeutic intervention to support comfort and function of pediatric patients
Implement medically approved plan of care in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
Participate in Pediatric Palliative Care/Hospice interdisciplinary team meetings, staff and community meetings and education.
Serve as a consultant on the team regarding child life therapies and provide training to staff and volunteers on the role and interventions.
Comply with agency documentation standards. Participate in agency Quality Assessment and Improvement activities
Assist PPCN Program Coordinator in program development, implementation and coordination of the program as set forth in the DPH contract.
Assist Program Coordinator and Bereavement Coordinator in development, implementation and coordination of the Pediatric Bereavement Program.
Bachelor's Degree in Family Counseling, Child Development, Recreational Therapy or similar field
Professional Child Life Certification through the Child Life Council
1 year of Inpatient setting
Valid Driver's License is required
