We seek a progressive, energetic, team-oriented CMO to join the Penrose-St. Francis executive leadership team in Colorado Springs – a mid-size city frequently recognized for outstanding quality of life and often ranked as one of the nation’s best places to live. In this role, you’ll oversee and collaborate with a high-functioning team of physicians and associates who share a passion for excellence and live Centura Health’s core values. This position also offers the option for you to continue practicing on a limited basis (20%) or spend 100% of your time focused on CMO responsibilities.
Working in partnership with Penrose-St. Francis Health Services CEO, CNO and Medical Staff to produce excellence in clinical outcomes and effectiveness, you’ll build relationships and help drive the strategic direction and overall operational management of physician services and medical staff administration for our two locations – Penrose St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. Operating under one license and governed by a single board of directors, with over 500 combined beds, you’ll help create meaningful change and optimize processes to enable the growth and continued success of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services both in the Colorado Springs market and throughout the region.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
This opportunity calls for a progressive, highly-involved and approachable physician leader who puts team before self, is comfortable in a rapidly-changing environment, believes in high reliability principles and is skilled in bringing people together to integrate Centura Health’s system initiatives and priorities at a local level. Required qualifications include:
Licensed Physician with clinical background (board certified while in clinical practice)
MD, Board Certified in an approved clinical specialty required while in clinical practice; MBA or MHA,or PhD preferred.
Five years’ of proven, progressive responsibility in healthcare leadership roles, committees or appointments. Medical staff relations, quality measurement credentialing and previous medical management experience highly desirable.
Knowledge of JCAHO, managed care and health policy to effectively integrate medical management.
Willingness to relocate and live in Colorado Springs.
