Director of Corporate Education and Training - 1900701
The Director of Corporate Education and Training recommends, plans, implements, facilitates, and evaluates training and development programs and activities in non-clinical subject areas for Stony Brook University Hospital staff. The Director of Corporate Education and Training manages and/or participates in organizational development projects and inter-departmental committees to determine training requirements that support a wide variety of business initiatives. The Director of Corporate Education and Training also oversees the administration of the learning management system.
Duties of the Director of Corporate Education and Training may include the following but are not limited to:
Manages the Corporate Education and Training department which includes supervising both administrative and instructional staff, managing a budget, and identifying the educational needs of a non-clinical nature for all levels of personnel based on assessment of needs and the strategic initiatives of the institution.
Plans and facilitates departmental retreats and/or organizational development projects in consultation with executive staff and/or department management.
Participates in and/or chairs inter-disciplinary committees with training and/or human resources responsibilities.
Oversees the administration of the learning management system.
Collaborates with SBUH leadership and other resources to develop informational/department specific workshops
Responds to regulatory agency requirements relevant to competency assessment and education.
Other duties as assigned.
This position may require that the selected candidate work in the hospital and/or at off site areas.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in any field. Seven or more years of experience in Training, Education and/or Organizational Development required. A minimum of five years of supervisory experience is required. Experience in the planning, design, facilitation, and evaluation of corporate training programs and organizational development projects. Experience with a variety of needs assessment methodologies and instructional design methods. Experience with e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems. Must be able to work independently.
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, or Instructional Technology.
Professional certifications in human resources and/or training (SHRM, ATD, CPLP, etc.).
